INSPIRE!

Magdala is the Aramaic word for "tower" and it's also associated with one of Jesus' closest friends - Mary of Magdala - Mary of the Tower. Many of the villages overlooking the sea of Galilee had towers and Mary came from near one of those.

But she was also an important woman in the early Church- maybe we should describe her as "Towering Mary"!

It was Mary of Magdala, also known as Mary Magdalen, who was the first person to meet the Risen Christ, and it was she who let the other disciples know what had happened.

She is the "Apostle to the Apostles".

There is absolutely no evidence at all that she was originally a prostitute but this rumour may well have suited the early church leadership who were mostly men!
Mary of Magdala was someone who really did INSPIRE!
